As a result of Dorset going into Tier 3 the Village Hall is closed until further notice. We will reopen as soon as restrictions are eased. Bookings can still be made via the Availability Calendar and can be cancelled without penalty at any time.

The Village Hall Trustees have undertaken a Risk Assessment and put various measures in place in accordance with the Government Guidance for the safe use of multi-purpose community facilities.

The Village Hall is Covid-19 Secure and is open currently for all uses except social gatherings such as parties or other informal gatherings involving more than one household (while we are in Tier 2) or more than 6 people (if and when we go into Tier 1).

  • Sit down wedding receptions are limited to a maximum of 15 guests and funeral wakes a maximum of 15 people.

The Village Hall Management Committee and individual hirers are following a set of procedures laid out in the Hall’s Covid Protocol, but everyone can help keep the Village Hall Covid-19 Secure:

  • 1. You must not enter if you or anyone in your household has COVID-19 symptoms.
  • 2. If you develop COVID-19 symptoms within 7 days of visiting these premises alert Test, Track and Trace. Alert the organiser of the activity you attended and the Village Hall via contact us.
  • 3. Maintain 2 metres social distancing as far as possible.
  • 4. Face coverings must be worn except if exempt, actively engaged in exercise or when eating or drinking.
  • 5. Attendance must be recorded either on the list provided by the person in charge of your session or by checking in via the NHS Covid app and our QR code.
  • 6. Use the hand sanitiser provided on entering the premises. Clean your hands often. Soap and paper towels are provided in the toilets.
  • 7. Avoid touching your face, nose, or eyes. Clean your hands if you do.
  • 8. “Catch it, Bin it, Kill it”. Tissues should be bagged up and taken home. Then wash your hands.
  • 9. Check the organisers of your activity have cleaned door handles, tables, other equipment, sinks and surfaces before you arrived and when you leave.
  • 10. Take turns to use confined spaces such as corridors, kitchen and toilet areas.
  • 11. Keep the hall well ventilated. Close doors and windows on leaving.
  • 12. Follow the instructions of the person in charge of your session.

Please be aware that the Social Club (“Old Harry Bar”) is under separate management and has its own set of Covid procedures.
